It’s more common than you might think. Rashes, headaches, sore eyes, respiratory issues – they’re all signs of an allergic reaction. Our founder, Lauren, knows this from personal experience, and that’s why she started Natrie.

Our powerful non-toxic ingredients

We work with the shortest ingredient list we can, because fewer ingredients means less potential for a reaction. We’re super picky about what goes into our products, and many of our ingredients are safe enough that you’ll also find them in cosmetics or foods.

Meet our Core Ingredients

Bicarbonate of Soda

This naturally occurring, safe compound is wonderful for scrubbing dirt, removing grease and neutralising odours.

Citric Acid

A mild organic acid found in many fruits, citric acid is used widely in food, personal care and pharmaceutical products. It’s great at tackling limescale and scum and it’s gentler than many ingredients used by mainstream brands. As it’s acidic, it’s also a natural sanitiser.

Diatomaceous Earth

Diatomaceous earth is a naturally occurring, mild abrasive. In powder form, it’s great at absorbing odours. As a paste, it makes a great cleaner.

Ethanol

Safe on the skin, ethanol disinfects and works against stubborn grime.

Phenoxyethanol (Preservative)

Preservatives inhibit biological action – and that makes them tricky for non-toxic products. We weighed up a long list of options before selecting phenoxyethanol, which also occurs naturally in green tea.

Plant-Based Surfactant

Normally used in gentle cleansers and soaps, this surfactant is produced from corn starch and coconuts. It’s also biodegradable and has low toxicity, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to the harsh surfactants found in many products. Along with our other ingredients, it works hard against grime.

Sodium Citrate

This little beauty is a great cleaning agent, but that’s not the only reason we use it. It also helps stabilise our formulation and reduces the impact of hard water.

Sugar Based Soap

This soap is a gentle cleanser that’s kind to skin and is normally found in body care products. In our formulation, it’s super effective at removing dirt and grime.

Vegetable Glycerine

Glycerine is a natural byproduct of making soap. It’s also a natural solvent, making it excellent for cleaning and for removing stains.

Our specially formulated, low-allergen fragrance

Fragranced products are usually a huge no-no for anyone with allergies, as there are a whopping 26 major fragrance allergens listed in the UK.

Our founder, Lauren, desperately wanted to offer an allergy-friendly fragranced cleaning range, as that’s what she was looking for herself.

There wasn’t a suitable fragrance on the market, so she worked with a chemist to formulate one. The result is our signature bergamot and lime scent. It’s made without all 26 major fragrance allergens, and it’s free from essential oils (which cause reactions in many people).

And don’t worry if you prefer your cleaning products unfragranced. Our range includes a fragrance-free option for that very reason.
